SAFE PLACE TO LEARN ACT

For students, employees, parents or guardians of students,
school and district advisory committees, agents of the 教育委员会, and the general public

The 长滩 Unified School District is committed to maintaining a learning environment that is free from discrimination, 骚扰, 暴力, 恐吓, and bullying based on actual or perceived characteristics set forth in Section 422.55 of the Penal Code and EC 220, 和残疾, 性别, 性别认同, 性别表达, 国籍, 种族或民族, 宗教, 性取向, or association with a person or group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics. All school personnel who witness an act of discrimination, 骚扰, 暴力, 恐吓, or bullying must take immediate steps to intervene when safe to do so. Any student who engages in acts of discrimination, 骚扰, 暴力, 恐吓, or bullying related to school activity or school attendance, occurring within a school of the school district may be subject to disciplinary

NOTICE TO PARENTS / GUARDIANS / PUPILS / TEACHERS

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR COMPLAINT RIGHTS

Parents, Guardians, Pupils and Teachers:
Pursuant to California Education Code Section 35186, you are hereby notified that:

  1. There should be sufficient textbooks and instructional materials. 这意味着每个学生, including English learners, must have a textbook or instructional materials, 或两个, to use in class and to take home.
     
  2. School facilities must be clean, safe, and maintained in good repair.
     
  3. There should be no teacher vacancies or misassignments. There should be a teacher assigned to each class and not a series of substitutes or other temporary teachers. The teacher should have the proper credential to teach the class, including the certification required to teach English learners if present.

    Teacher vacancy means a position to which a single designated certificated employee has not been assigned at the beginning of the year for an entire year or, if the position is for a one semester course, a position to which a single designated certificated employee has not been assigned at the beginning of a semester for an entire semester.

    Misassignment means the placement of a certificated employee in a teaching or services position for which the employee does not hold a legally recognized certificate or credential or the placement of a certificated employee in a teaching or services position that the employee is not otherwise authorized by statute to hold.
